Keep your pet on a leash.

What to bring:
Sheets and pillow cases (and your own pillows if you prefer, but we have pillows there)
Towels
Bottled water (The water is fine for bathing and is "safe" for drinking, but it smells like sulfur and doesn't taste very good)
Food: there is a market in Confluence, about 15 minutes away, a mini-mart about 3 miles away
for ice and essentials.

The house has a large flat yard which goes down to the water. No motorized boats allowed, but kayaking is fun (no rapids though). There's steps for easy water access. We have a dinghy. The kids can swim, (but the bottom of the stream is very muddy and you will SINK! Use an inner tube to stay afloat) there's a place they can jump into the water down by the dam. Fishing is also a common pass time.
There's other cottages very close by, everyone is very friendly and helpful.
